Pilot Case - Central Macedonia, Greece
Description
Central Macedonia is a relatively developed NUTS2 region that experienced population loss in 2015. However, during the last decade the region has experienced significant structural changes in terms of labour market opportunities fact which has led in a population increase in 2019. Due to this changing nature of population structure, Central Macedonia constitutes an interesting case study for MOBI-TWIN.
Objectives of the Pilot
Throughout the MOBI-TWIN project a specific focus will be placed in the role of changing labour market conditions triggered in many cases by the Twin Transition and their effects on spatial mobility outcomes for the Region of Central Macedonia. Given the increased importance of these processes for the broader region, the project aims at boosting engagement and regional activities for building a strong stakeholder base for developing concrete scenarios and collecting meaningful data and information for the project activities.
