The MOBI-TWIN project at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2023 (EWRC)

Our partner, Regional Development Institute represented MOBI-TWIN project at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2023 (EWRC) held in Brussels, Belgium from 9 to 12 October, 2023.
The EWRC is organized by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO). It is the biggest annual event related to regional policy where regions and cities showcase their ability to drive economic development and job creation, carry out EU cohesion policy, and demonstrate the significance of local and regional governance for effective European governance.
The event was attended by over 8,000 people from municipal and regional administrations, local authorities, young politicians, academia, NGOs, and the commercial sector. Throughout the event, more than 150 journalists and more than 500 speakers from all over Europe discussed issues related to cohesion policy.
On the second day of the event, the Regional Development Institute gave a detailed presentation on brain drain, analyzing the drivers and the consequences of the mobility of people with higher education, who move to a country other than their birthplace for better opportunities and quality of life.
